Robert J. Maha, MD, MBA, FACEP is President and Chief Medical Officer of ERMI. Dr. Maha attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh. After residency, Dr. Maha served as a Major in the United States Air Force. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and holds an academic appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Maha has contributed to numerous emergency medicine research projects and publications. He has past appointments as the Regional Director of Emergency Medicine at UPMC Horizon and Chairman of Emergency Medicine at St. Clair Hospital. Dr. Maha has served as a Board Member for the Emergency Department Practice Management Association and as an ACEP Councilor. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Economics Committee and the National ACEP Reimbursement Committee. |

Paul M. Paris, MD,
FACEP, is Vice President of the board for Emergency
Resource Management Inc. He is chairman of the Department
of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine, Medical Director of the Center for Emergency
Medicine, Medical Director for Emergency Medical Services
Inc., and Medical Director for the City of Pittsburgh EMS.
He is committed to integrating academic and community resources
into a novel dynamic emergency care system for the region.
Board-certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine,
Dr. Paris served his residency at Maine Medical Center
and completed an emergency medical fellowship at Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center in Los Angeles. |

Colleen Brennan, MPM,
is Chief Operating Officer of ERMI. She is responsible for
overseeing ERMI's overall program operations, including recruitment
and retention of emergency medicine physicians. Ms. Brennan
previously was administrative director for the University
of Pittsburgh's Center for Continuing Education and administrative
director of UPMC Presbyterian's Neurodiagnostics and Peripheral
Vascular Labs. Ms. Brennan earned a master's degree in public
management from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a bachelor's
degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh. |

Trish Smith is
Senior Director of Operations for ERMI. She is responsible
for recruitment and process improvement initiatives. Ms.
Smith was previously the associate director of UPMC Health
System's Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences.
Ms. Smith holds a business degree from Mansfield University,
Mansfield, PA. |

David Anderson, MD, Director of the Emergency Department at Jameson Hospital received his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio and completed emergency medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Anderson is board-certified in emergency medicine and has been practicing emergency medicine since 1997. |

Christopher DeLuca, MD, FACEP, Director of the Emergency Department at St. Clair Hospital received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed an emergency medicine residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, (currently Drexel University) in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. DeLuca is board certified in emergency medicine and is a clinical instructor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He started his career with ERMI at UPMC Braddock and UPMC South Side. |

Arthur Dortort, DO, Director
of the Emergency Department at Clarion Hospital, received his
medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He completed an internship at UPMC Horizon, Shenango Campus
and has been the Director of the Emergency Department at Clarion
Hospital since 1979. Dr. Dortort has served on the Board of
Directors of Clarion Hospital and as President of the Clarion
County Medical Society. |

Richard Heath, MD, Medical Director, Emergency Services at UPMC Braddock received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a residency in internal medicine before practicing as an emergency physician for eight years, including two at Braddock Medical Center. He then completed the three-year emergency medicine residency program at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV and returned to Braddock in 1996. Dr. Heath is board-certified in emergency medicine and serves as ERMI’s Compliance Officer.

William Kristan, MD, is the Director
of the Emergency Department at UPMC Passavant. He received
his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency
at Akron City Hospital in Akron, OH. Dr. Kristan is board-certified
in Emergency Medicine and has been practicing Emergency Medicine
since 1983. |

Rani Kumar, MD, FACEP, Director
of the Emergency Department at UPMC McKeesport, received
her medical degree from Glancy Medical College in Amristar,
India. She completed her pediatrics residency at Richland
Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C. Dr. Kumar is board-certified
in emergency medicine, pediatrics and pediatric emergency
medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
She has worked as an emergency department physician since
1981. |

Wayne S. Ludkiewicz, MD, is Director of
the Emergency Department at Ohio Valley General Hospital. He
received his medical degree at the University of Colorado Health
Science Center and completed a Family Practice residency at
The Medical Center, Beaver, PA. Dr. Ludkiewicz is board-certified
in Family Practice and has been practicing Emergency Medicine
since 1985. |

Joseph Noga, DO, is Director of the Emergency Department at UPMC Horizon, both Greenville and Shenango Campuses. He received his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in emergency medicine. Dr. Noga completed his residency program at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He started his emergency medicine career as a staff physician with ERMI at UPMC Horizon. |

James E. Nicholas, MD, is
chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and director
of Emergency Medical Services at UPMC St. Margaret. Board-certified
in internal medicine and emergency medicine, he received
his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine. Dr. Nicholas completed a residency and an internship
in internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital. He is
a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians
and the American College of Physicians. |

Tracey Smart, DO, Director of the Emergency Department at UPMC South Side, received her medical degree from University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City. She completed an emergency medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where she was chief resident. Dr. Smart is board certified in emergency medicine and has been practicing emergency medicine since 2000. In her prior position with ERMI, she was Medical Director of EMS and a staff physician at UPMC St. Margaret. |

Ravi Vajjhala, MD, FACEP, is Director
of the Emergency Department at UPMC Passavant Cranberry.
He received his medical degree at LLRM Medical College in
Meerut, India and completed a Surgery residency at St. Francis
Hospital, Trenton, NJ. Dr. Vajjhala is board-certified in
Emergency Medicine and has been practicing Emergency Medicine
since 1983. |

Timothy VanFleet, M.D., Director of the Emergency Department at Magee-Women’s Hospital received his medical degree from the Wright State University in Dayton, OH. He completed a residency in family practice at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He subsequently served as Assistant Director of the Emergency Department. Dr. VanFleet is board-certified in emergency medicine and family practice and has been practicing Emergency Medicine since 1986. |

Richard Wadas, MD, is Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his emergency medicine residency program at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Wadas joined ERMI in 2001 as a staff physician at UPMC Passavant and also served as Director of Emergency Medicine at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA. Dr. Wadas is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and holds a clinical appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is the Associate Director of the Advanced Airway Management Course at the Peter Winter Institute for Education, Research, and Simulation. He has an extensive EMS background and is the Associate Regional Director for the Emergency Medical Services Institute. |
